Ms. Karen Lin brings to Frontiers Academy a rich experience of teaching Mandarin in an immersion school environment and also knowledge of Chinese teaching/learning methods for young students. Lin Laoshi holds an PhD in Early Childhood Education from Indiana University, Bloomington, and it is her passion to inspire students to take on the fun and exciting challenges to learn a new language. When Lin Laoshi graduated from Indiana University, she spent 3 years teaching at a university in Taiwan. After moving to the U.S., Ms. Lin has been working in Chinese/English bilingual preschools and kindergarten as a teacher, director and program director in order to continue her passion in the field of education.
As a teacher for Frontiers Academy, Lin Laoshi’s goal to nurture students’ interests to further develop their Chinese language skills and deepen their understanding of Chinese culture while implementing high quality teaching/learning environment in the classroom. She strives to uncover each student’s strengths and provide the encouragement needed for them to take new risks in learning a new language. Lin Laoshi believes that learning a new language can inspire students to expand the horizon for their future!
