Stacy Colwell received her Bachelor of Science Degree from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona and a teaching credential from California State University, San Bernardino. After teaching in the Coachella Valley, she developed a passion for helping a greater number of students, so went on to obtain her Masters in Educational Administration from Washington State University. Her first principal position was at the same elementary school she attended as a child. There, she led a Spanish bilingual immersion program that encouraged students to become fully fluent in both languages.
Ms. Colwell continued her journey as an educator, authoring an online class helping teachers with technology in the classroom. Additionally, she wrote an innovative school plan for and opened the first public school for profoundly gifted students in Nevada. She was then recruited to lead a private elementary school program through a time of increased enrollment and school improvement.
Ms. Colwell believes students can achieve amazing things when given learning opportunities that promote academic excellence, teamwork, and a positive school environment.
