Our students had a wonderful time during our STEAM Thanksgiving event on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving break. All of the students were divided into cross-age groups with one of the E5 students assigned as the team leader. The groups with students from E1 to E5 then traveled to five different sessions that related to Thanksgiving and incorporated one aspect of STEAM – science, technology, engineering, art, and math. It was great to see our older students take a leadership role in directing their team to the different activities and help them accomplish the tasks. From calculating the items and cost for a Thanksgiving dinner to designing the shape of the Mayflower to hold the most weight, our students had fun working together and learning about this traditional American holiday.
