Shen Laoshi was born in China and came to the United States to pursue her graduate studies five years ago. She received a M.A. in Education with an emphasis in Dual Language Development from California State University, Long Beach. She spent two graduate school years developing a deep understanding of Californian children and parents that come from multicultural backgrounds.
Prior to joining Frontiers Academy, Shen Laoshi worked as a world language specialist to diverse students ranging from preschool children to military personnel in California. She has taught both full immersion and Chinese language classes at other top private schools in Orange County and Immersion classes for the National Defense in Los Angeles as well. Shen Laoshi believes that language learning is the best way to enrich cultural absorption for the students.
Shen Laoshi loves to make connection with children by being a companion first, then an educator. Teaching is in her blood, teaching Chinese is her talent. At Frontiers Academy, Shen Laoshi hopes she can be the one who inspires and affects positive change.
